Locust Lane Vineyard

Locust Lane Vineyard

The Locust Lane Vineyard consisting of approximately 33 acres, is the first vineyard purchased by Hidden Bench in 2003 and is the location of the winery, and, as such, is our home vineyard. This vineyard is unique in that it has both a West /East slope as well as South/ North slope providing excellent air drainage and solar exposure. Originally planted in 1998, the East block closest to the winery has a row spacing of 4ft by 9ft. In 2004, Hidden Bench undertook the vineyard redevelopment of the West Block and planted an additional 8 acres with a high density vineyard spacing of 1 metre by 1.5 metres or 2800 vines per acre. Initial indications are that this vine density will produce superior viticulture results.
